We partner with public-sector players, local authorities and infrastructure operators in the deployment of very high-speed networks at regional level.

Plan France Très Haut Débit

Broadband for All

Launched by the French government in 2013, the Plan France Très Haut Débit (national super-fast broadband plan) aims to provide full coverage of the French territory by 2022. To do that, fiber has been selected as the technology to be rolled out across the nation. Other technologies supporting super-fast connectivity are also being implemented.

The investment - €20 billion over 10 years - is shared out among private-sector service providers, local authorities and the State. France has been divided into two zones: one area, known as the private-sector zone, is assigned to private-sector service providers; and one low-density area, known as the public-sector zone, is assigned to local authorities. All French regions had undertaken the deployment of very high-speed broadband in low-density areas as of 2016.
