Circet France’s membership of the United Nations Global Compact and its solidarity program attest to its commitment to positioning itself as a responsible corporate citizen.

United Nations Global Compact

Circet France has been supporting the UN Global Compact since 2011. As a company, we have decided to engage responsibly and we have embraced fundamental values related to human rights, labor, environmental and anti-corruption standards.

Ethics & Compliance

Because we believe Ethics & Compliance are business imperatives, we are committed to ensuring that we - Circet France and its subsidiaries - constantly conduct business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the countries where we operate and in accordance with the requirements defined by our company's Code of Conduct.

Human Rights

Beyond applicable laws and regulations, it is our commitment to abide by international law on human rights, which states that all humans have universal and inalienable rights, regardless of where they live.

Labor Standards

Circet France mainly operates in metropolitan France. As such, French labor law applies to all employment contracts.

Our company has decided to abide by the recommendations of the International Labour Organization concerning:

  • the minimum age for employment,
  • the ban on forced labor, and
  • the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining (recommendations C138, C29, C105 and C98).

We have also implemented a Safety Management System to closely monitor diverse indicators. Our preventive approach to safety management is based on raising awareness and training our employees on electrical hazards, overhead work, asbestos exposure, and first-aid.

Our efforts are paying off! We are happy to report that despite a higher headcount the accident frequency rate has been decreasing steadily over the last 5 years and that the accident severity rate has been halved.

Environment

Protecting the environment and improving our eco-footprint by driving down the environmental impact of our operations is one of Circet France’s key sustainability priorities. To further enhance our environmental performance, we have implemented an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system, which is fully integrated into our overall quality management system. Final certification was obtained in September 2012.

Our company has also identified the specific areas and impacts of our operations on the environment and has consequently developed a methodology and standards to reduce our carbon emissions and improve our waste management practices.

The average age of our company’s vehicle fleet is under 2 years and the fleet is checked over and maintained on a regular basis.

Waste is sorted and processed by approved recycling partners. To enable the efficient tracking of our waste, Hazardous Waste Disposal Forms are used to describe the processing methods.

Fighting Corruption

Circet France:

  • does not fund any political parties or holders of public office;
  • does not fund any administrative authority or government department with a view to receiving favorable treatment;
  • tracks and records all asset and liability-related transactions in its books of account kept in accordance with accounting laws.

Reporting

To track our company's progress, we are using several reporting indicators, in particular concerning workforce evolution.

Launched in July 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is a non-binding United Nations pact to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The UN Global Compact is a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. It is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative with 13,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders over 170 countries with two objectives: ‘Mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world’ and ‘Catalyze actions in support of broader UN goals’.

Companies must give concrete meaning to their actions and respect the values and principles that connect cultures and people everywhere.
