The job in brief
Under the responsibility of a project manager, the works supervisor must ensure that the contracts under his responsibility are profitable, compliant with regulations and with current occupational health and safety rules and quality procedures (internal and the client's). He supervises internal or external site teams, or even the design office. His main duties include organizing technical inspections, preparing quotations for clients, organizing site logistics, preparing work packages, checking the progress of the works and final acceptance, analysing cost effectiveness and invoicing the client.
He contributes to continual improvement by analysing any human failings, understanding variations in profitability and proposing solutions to remedy them. He also contributes to business development by updating schedules, finding solutions and participating in sales drives.
