Circet's teams have provided indoor multi-operator coverage of the highest skyscraper in Lyon, owned by the Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes, for SFR.

Tour Incity 460x-FIVES

Located in the heart of Part Dieu, Lyon's business district, the Tour Incity is not just the tallest tower block in Lyon (200 metres and 39 floors of offices) but also the 1st HEQ (high environmental quality) high-rise building in a city centre in France. Designed for the well-being of users, it prioritizes sound and thermal comfort, air quality and natural light, and offers services unequalled in Lyon.

To also offer the tower's occupants quality mobile communications, its owner Caisse d'Épargne Rhône-Alpes wished to equip it with a private mobile networks infrastructure open to all operators.

Circet provides its technical expertise

Circet was approached by SFR in April 2015, when the Caisse d'Épargne issued its invitation to tender. Circet's Lyon teams and SFR chose and approved the technology and engineering for 3G/4G coverage shared with the other operators. After costing and budgeting the project, SFR tendered its bid to its client Caisse d'Épargne. The technical and financial talks between Circet, SFR and Caisse d'Épargne lasted eight long months. These efforts bore fruit, as SFR was awarded the contract in November 2015.

The works commenced on 1st February 2016 and lasted three months. The system was activated at the end of April and the site offers speeds absolutely in line with forecasts.

Works carried out "discretely"

Three months of works while the staff of Caisse d'Épargne and the staff of SNCF, a lessee, had already moved into the tower, that was one of the special features of the project... As the office workers had already taken possession, the works had to be carried out swiftly, meticulously and silently.

"We responded to SFR's requirements vis-à-vis its client with a high degree of adaptability and patience. It is undoubtedly this adaptability and controlled costing that enabled Circet to win this contract."

"The Circet works manager constantly had to share a tight yet flexible schedule with the tower's manager. And we often had to yield to the demands of the final client and its office staff."

And the immediate knock-on effects

The quality of the completed work and the daily supervision were the key benefits vis-à-vis the Caisse d'Épargne. And this was not unrelated to the fact that Orange subsequently awarded the work to convert its premises to the same teams.

Client's testimonial

I chose Circet as partner in this project for their expertise in indoor coverage. CIRCET was very responsive and available throughout the project, during the costing phase and during the works themselves. Everything was done to keep to the schedule we had committed to.
