Circet has constructed one of the tallest pylons in Brittany for Radio Bonheur.

Pylone radio bonheur 85m 460x-FIVES

Radio Bonheur broadcasts French songs from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s in the Côtes d'Armor department. Thanks to its three transmitters, this independent radio station, the number 2 in the department, covers more than 80% of the population of Côtes d'Armor.

In 2014 Radio Bonheur decided to have its own pylon erected for its Guingamp transmitter, the one that covers inland area in the west of the department. It wanted to free itself from the constraints imposed by not owning the highest point and thereby facilitate its installation and maintenance operations. With its own pylon, designed and erected by Circet's Nantes teams early in the summer of 2014, this local radio station is now totally independent. And moreover it has the option of broadcasting to other departments.

The achievement

A project completed in record time: six weeks and not a day longer. Designs, construction of the pylon, construction of its base with 90 cubic metres of cast concrete, the 85-metre high pylon was completed in July 2014. The pylon construction project, one of the tallest in Brittany, was conducted by Circet's teams from Nantes.

We had this pylon erected because we wanted not to be dependent on another owner for our ongoing maintenance. We chose Circet because, for an equivalent cost, they proposed a design that we preferred. And we are by and large satisfied with the result, which was achieved on time.
