The job in brief

In conjunction with a site negotiator or works supervisor, the draughtsman designer produces or helps produce technical documents for feasibility studies then for the works themselves and lastly, after the works, for the final documentation.

His or her duties include finding the best technical solution, within budget, factoring in technical constraints and standards, designing models and plans for the future structure or for altering the existing structure, and if necessary carrying out field surveys in situ.
